I use community-engaged methods to improve Black, Latinx, and/or low-income adolescents’ preventive health behaviors (e.g., diet, physical activity, and substance use) and wellbeing.

I have three specific areas of research:

  1. developing and testing theories and scales that capture health-related constructs relevant to minoritized adolescents;
  2. designing interventions that align with adolescents’ lived experiences;
  3. exploring the risks and opportunities of social media for adolescents’ health and wellbeing.
